This presence, the glow of the book in an ever accessible remoteness is a most companiable feeling, and the better the book has conformed to its prefigured contour and colour the ampler and smoother it glows. But even so, there are certain points, by-roads, favourite hollows that one evokes more eagerly and enjoys more tenderly than the rest of one's book.

As promised, a vast array of photos. Fill you're boots!
On the 16th of July 2009 I swam the English Channel. Whilst I never touched France, I got into the Bay before a freak tide stopped me in my tracks. Now its over I'm looking for the next adventure - this blog, mainly for my benefit, is where I'm recording all that I get up to. One day I'll look back and read it, hopefully with a mixture of pride, warmth and not a little embarassment...
